State Route 208 – New Wilmington, PA

New Wilmington, PA - 2014

Description

SR208 is a heavily traveled road in an Amish community that withstands not only cars, but also a large amount of horse and buggy traffic. A good portion of the road is also asphalt over brick. PennDOT 11-0 elected to mill up the road and place FORTAfied® asphalt to defer the reflective cracking and provide tensile strength to combat the rutting issue.

Update

After 9 years, the pavement distress is extremely evident where the traditional asphalt meets the FORTAfied asphalt. This fiber reinforced section is completely free of potholes and shows minimal signs of rutting.
