Project Description
FORTA-FI was used to reinforce a high-volume connector highway in Cordoba, Spain. This project used 4,000 tons of fiber reinforced asphalt in a 5 cm (2”) wearing course. Since this is a high-volume road with high truck traffic, the City of Cordoba was looking to increase the durability of the highway. Adding fiber reinforcement to the asphalt will reduce maintenance costs overtime by reducing rutting and cracking.
Key Points
- Extended Pavement Life
