Project Description
In 2017, four-block Control vs. Fiber 2.0 in mill and overlay was constructed in the City of New Braunfels, TX to evaluate the performance of FORTA-FI.
Update
After 3 years in service, a post-construction performance evaluation was performed. FORTA-FI reinforced asphalt significantly outperformed the control sections and reduced reflective cracking by over 50%. This reduces maintenance efforts and extends the life of the pavement—saving time and money. Reports estimate that the FORTA-FI section will provide an additional 4-6 years of service life and save the City an estimated 17-22%.
