Project Description
Serving as a connection to Vaclav Havel International Airport, as well as a main entrance point to the capital, this four-lane divided highway accrues a daily traffic load of 40,700 small vehicles and nearly 2,000 trucks and buses. In an effort to mitigate cracking and rutting, approximately 2,000 tons of FORTA-FI reinforced asphalt was used during phase 1 of the total overhaul which saw the first 2 km of road reconstruction. All three layers of the initial 1.5 km were replaced, while only the wearing course was replaced in the remaining 500 m. The municipality hopes to add life extension to this vital roadway.
