Project Description
FORTA-FI was chosen to repair the pavement at a Love’s Truck Stop in Tennessee. The parking lot and gas pumping areas were in need of several full depth patches throughout the property utilizing a coarser surface type mixture. This project used 190 tons of FORTA-FI reinforced asphalt from the wearing to the base course at a 6 to 8-inch thickness. The contractors used the FORTA Little Shot to easily add bags of pre-cut FORTA-FI fiber to the asphalt mix with no changes to the mix design. FORTA-FI was chosen by owners to reduce rutting from the constant traffic that this location receives. Owners will also see a reduction of the alligator cracking that was occurring due to the high-volume truck traffic at the truck stop. By replacing existing fiber from a FORTA competitor with FORTA-FI, Love’s Truck Stop will see an increase in the pavement lifecycle of their parking lot.
