Project Description
An American multi-national distribution center in Arcadia, FL used FORTA-FI fiber to reinforce a new parking lot. This new construction used 1,600 lb of fiber and was laid at a thickness of 6”. FORTA-FI was used in both the wearing course and base layer of this project. The wearing course was 2” thick, and the base layer ended up being 4” thick and consisted of shell limestone. The little shot was used to add the fiber to the asphalt and no issues arose at the plant or at the job site. The project had a quick turnaround time and traffic was able to move on the pavement after only two days. This distribution center is using FORTA-FI on all their projects across the United States to extend the life of the asphalt. This is the first project for this company using FORTA-FI in Florida and all involved were happy with the result.
