Project Description
The neighborhood southwest of the intersection of Orangethorpe Avenue and Euclid Street in Fullerton, CA used both FORTA-FI and Surface-EXT in a residential rehabilitation that included both asphalt and slurry. This project included a 2” mill and fill of one street, several dig-out locations that were patched, and slurry sealing of the neighborhood. The Pavement Condition Index (PCI) was very low for this neighborhood and there were several areas with alligator cracking that the city wanted to keep from reoccurring. The City of Fullerton is rated one of the worst roads of Orange County and they are trying to do whatever they can to reduce cracking and increase the life of their roadways so they can try and catch up to other areas. The engineer mentioned he was “happy with how well the whole process went and he is excited to see how well it will perform.”
