Project Description
The city of Austin used Surface-EXT to reinforce the slurry surfacing applications for residential roadways throughout their local neighborhoods. In total, 5 miles of slurry surfaced pavement was placed while using 350 lb of dry material. The use of Surface-EXT provides a matrix system throughout the mix, helping to link the asphalt to the aggregate that will add to the long-term durability and overall life of the roadways. In addition, the fiber was easily dispersed throughout and the fiber reinforced micro surfacing flowed effortlessly.
