State Route 837

Project Description

PennDOT’s District 11-0 decided to use FORTA-FI® in State Route 837 after being previously displeased with the roadway’s constant need for maintenance patching – costing them time and money. FORTA-FI® provides the road with long-term durability and increased strength while also preventing premature cracking and rutting. Additionally, a test section of the road was placed using a two-dimensional fabric to analyze the benefits of using FORTA-FI®.

Update

Pictures show a crack extending towards the middle of the road. The section containing the crack did not contain FORTA-FI® but, instead, contained two-dimensional fabric. The crack, however, stops when it reaches the section that is reinforced with FORTA-FI®.
