Description
Georgia DOT is evaluating FORTA-FI® as a cost-effective and easy to use tool for mitigating rutting and cracking in high traffic areas. The DOT typically uses polymer modified mixes; however, polymer modified binders can be expensive and challenging to use. State Route 85 was chosen as the evaluation site as the highway is classified as a major urban arterial with very heavy commercial traffic servicing a dense population of shops and malls. The high traffic area coupled with frequent traffic stops associated with a high density commercial area provides a perfect location to evaluate the benefits of FORTA-FI®.
