400 tons of HMA was placed on Airport Road, the entrance to the Venango Regional Airport from Pittsburgh Road in Franklin, PA.FORTA-FI® was introduced through one pound bags at the batch plant and used in both the leveling and wearing courses.
Update
After 7 years, Airport Road is still in great condition. The road has limited fatigue cracking and minimal transverse cracking. There was a drainage repair on the shoulder of the westbound lane that was repaved, but that issue was unrelated to fiber.
